*And so Robert Gabriel Mugabe, Zimbabwe’s first post-independence leader dies. He was ousted in a military coup in November 2017. This is one cartoon of a few that I did of him that defined his rule in the latter years of Zimbabwe.
He fought toothlessly for the independence of his country. He won Zimbabwe’s first election after independence, becoming prime minister in 1980 and did very well but along the way lost the plot with the country he fought for to be free.Â
