*Remember the actress who put up a billboard to get Tyler Perry‘s attention, and while the acclaimed director criticized the move, it landed her an audition?
As we previously reported, the actress, Racquel Bailey, appeared on TMZ Live and said her plan worked because Perry’s team reached out to her and asked her to submit a tape.
Now it’s being reported she landed a role in one of his new TV shows.

Sources close to Racquel tell us she officially got cast 2 weeks ago in TP’s new show for BET called “Sistas.” We’re told she shot with Perry last week in Atlanta and will appear in the finale of season 1, and possibly in season 2.
Our sources say Bailey plays a police officer who had a past relationship with one of the lead characters. Perry was on set directing the episode in which Bailey will appear … a dream come true for her.
The success of the billboard doesn’t stop there either. We’re told after it went viral, Racquel was contacted by several casting directors and got about 20 auditions … which led to booking 2 roles even before the “Sistas” gig.
She has more major auditions coming up with some big-time directors.
Back when she posted her billboard in June, Perry responded by hitting up Instagram to warn Racquel and all potential actors that:
” This is not the way to get my attention if you’re looking for a role in one of my shows. Please DON’T DO THIS, SAVE YOUR MONEY!! This is the third time that someone has done this. PLEASE STOP! To audition is FREE!! I’m sure you can use that money for a better purpose. I love that you want to work with me, and I love that you invest in yourself. But when you do things like this it puts my team on high alert and makes me look at you sideways. I know the message that you want to send is a positive one, but this comes across as the opposite. Again, the best way to work for me is to AUDITION and it’s FREE! We post breakdowns all the time for actors. JUST COME AND AUDITION. And by the way, you were great in THE NIGHT OF! It was my favorite show a couple years ago. I ALREADY SAW YOU!! So just audition and keep your money!! Again, I appreciate your effort, but that’s not the way to work for me. God bless you dreamer. I have no doubt you will make it one day!!”
