*Retired NFL star Nate Burleson has been tapped to be correspondent for Billy Bush’s new entertainment program, “Extra Extra,” when the show launches in September.
“It elevates Nate where he is becoming more and more of a transcendent, crossover talent,” Nate’s agent, Mark Lepselter, said of the “Extra Extra” role. In March, Burleson worked as a special correspondent for “Extra Extra” and interviewed comedian Tracy Morgan (see clip below).
“Extra Extra” is the rebranded edition of the long-running daily entertainment program, and marks Bush’s TV return following the fallout from his infamous “Grab them by the p—y” Trump tape scandal.

“We all have to be able to evolve as we grow,” Bush said in a People story announcing his new gig. “The guy that left the scene in 2016 was already a changed person (since 2005), but I had the opportunity to grow up a little bit. Facing adversity in some way is good. And I feel I’ll be better at my job than I ever was. This is my next step.”
In October 2016, NBC News fired Bush, then a host of “Today” after footage emerged from his 2005 “Access Hollywood” interview with Trump, in which they can be heard having a laugh about sexually assaulting women.
Meanwhile, Burleson has signed a new two-year extension with CBS to stay on “The NFL Today,” per the New York Post. He will continue to co-host the NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football.”
Burleson is now being touted as the next Michael Strahan, as both men started their post-NFL career with television studio work. Strahan branched out of the sports world by co-hosting “Live! with Regis and Kelly” for a few years. He then moved on “Good Morning America” as a correspondent in 2016.
