*The ex-husband of Jennifer Hudson and WWE star David Otunga helped to secure a new heart for his ailing niece after mounting an all-out effort to save her life.
According to The Blast, Otunga’s niece Kylee had been kept alive with the assistance of a machine and a continuous IV after experiencing heart failure. Her condition was rapidly deteriorating, so Otunga began attending scores of interviews to get his niece on the transplant list.
Once she made the list, her condition was so dire that she was bumped to the top and received a transplant.
Otunga says they first found out about the available donor heart while attending a birthday party at Medieval Times.
With the brand new heart in place, Otunga says Kylee’s turnaround has been nothing short of amazing. Although the road of recovery will be long, she’s in great spirits and positive about getting better, Otunga says.
The pro wrestler had previously rented out a movie theater and had it sanitized so Kylee would be able to see “Boo 2! A Madea Halloween.”
Once Kylee gets released from the hospital, we’re told she will be living with Otunga in his new home, which he had purchased to stay in close proximity to the girl while she was hospitalized.
