Mariah Carey Secures NYE Performance in Brazil Worth Millions

Mariah Carey*Mariah Carey has signed a multi-million dollar deal for a one-off NYE performance at Copacabana in Brazil, TMZ reports.

The deal is reportedly worth between $2 and $5 million … for ONE night. Considering the millions she got for her Las Vegas residency, Mariah and her babies could spend all of 2016 secluded on her own private island if she so choose.

Meanwhile, it was previously reported that Mariah is releasing a children’s book based on her 1994 hit single ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’.

Mariah, who has four-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe with estranged husband Nick Cannon, says she is ”thrilled and proud” to be releasing the festive picture book.

“When I wrote ‘All I Want For Christmas is You’ it was my dream for it to become a classic Christmas song,” she said in a statement. “I am so proud of the song’s impact as it continues to create memories for fans each year. I am thrilled to be able to bring the story of the song to new generations of families with the picture book.”

The book features the complete lyrics of the single and tells the story of a little girl whose Christmas wish is for a new puppy.

Carey is also gearing up to star in and direct her first feature film titled “Mariah Carey’s Christmas Project,” debuting on the Hallmark Channel’s in December as part of the network’s Countdown to Christmas programming.

In related news, during a recent interview on Rap Radar’s podcast, L.A. Reid revealed that Jay Z has Mariah to thank for securing his gig as president of Def Jam in 2004. Reid recounted the moment he “needed help” deciding who he should hire, so he asked Mariah for advice and she insisted there was “only one person” she would hire for Def Jam. As he recalled, her advice was “hire Jigga!” Listen to the podcast here.
