Fetty Wap’s Need for Speed Caused Motorcycle Crash: Cops

*Cops are still investigating a motorcycle accident Fetty Wap was involved in over the weekend in his hometown of Paterson, New Jersey.

According to TMZ, law enforcement sources say it appears Fetty is at fault for the crash. Witnesses say the rapper was on his motorcycle and tried passing one vehicle, he didn’t see another coming in the opposite direction and they collided.

Following Fetty’s accident on Saturday, Sept. 26, after which he was rushed to the hospital, the rapper went on Instagram to let his fans know that he appreciates their support and updated them on his condition.

“Appreciate Ya so much for the prayers … they told me don’t make a video but I’m still breathing so I gotta let ya no I’ll be back,” he wrote. The accident occurred a day after he debuted his self-titled album.

“He was treated at a local hospital and is in stable condition,” the rapper’s management wrote in a statement to Rolling Stone.

“His family wants to thank everyone for their outpouring of love and support. They ask that you respect their privacy during this time,” the statement said.

A couple of days prior to the accident, Fetty posted video of himself riding a motorcycle before a concert in Clifton, New Jersey. As TMZ reports, the motorcycle enthusiast has a need for speed and loves riding dangerously, which was evident during a recent music video shoot at Platinum 84 Gentleman’s club in Denver on Sept. 14 with Chris Brown and French Montana.  Peep the video below. Sources on set say the “Trap Queen” rapper spent most of the day carelessly riding a dirt bike for the music video, even when they weren’t recording.
