Macy’s to Remove Diddy’s Clothing Brand ‘Sean John’ from its Stores

*Retail giant Macy’s will no longer carry Sean “Diddy” Combs clothing brand “Sean John.” An insider familiar with the details disclosed that Diddy’s “products are being removed” and “won’t be available on the site.” In essence, the musician’s brand won’t be featured on Macy’s retail website, ending a two-decade partnership.

The insider added that Diddy’s “products are being removed” and “won’t be available on the site.”

Macy’s has been offering the brand in select stores for years but now the brand is not been selling like it used to in the ’90s and early ‘00s. The insider pointed out that the retail stores are “always evaluating” and deciding “what’s relevant” to consumers. After a period of evaluation, Macy’s decided it was time to “phase out” the label because people were no longer buying Sean John.

“As part of our ongoing review of our brand portfolio, the Sean John collection has started to phase out of assortment since early fall 2023,” the insider disclosed to RadarOnline.com on Wednesday. “It’s the course of business.”

But the insider was quick to point out that the decision has nothing to do with the Cassie lawsuit against Diddy.

But insiders on Diddy’s side downplayed the claims by the other insider at Macy’s. For them, the rapper’s brand is being “reimagined” but has “no official plans to re-released.”

Diddy’s insiders added that the news about the department store’s plan to phase out the label is “relevant because this is part of the process.”

Diddy launched the clothing label in 1998. In 2016, he sold 90% of the stake to Global Brands Group. However, he had to purchase it back in December 2021 for $7.5 million after the holding company went bankrupt. Diddy signed an exclusive partnership with Macy’s in 2010 and since then the department store has been carrying Sean John.

Recently, Diddy’s ex-lover Cassie, 37, took him to court, accusing him of raping her, physically abusing her, piling her with drugs, and forcing her to perform illicit acts on sex workers throughout the 10-year period they were in a relationship. But to everyone’s shock, she withdrew the case a day later after settling the matter with Diddy.

“I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control I want to thank my family, fans, and lawyers for their unwavering support,” Cassie explained.
