*The 10-year-old daughter of late rapper DMX is producing a documentary to raise awareness about fentanyl and addiction.

Sonovah Hillman Jr. has launched a GoFundMe to promote her four-part docuseries. In the campaign’s description, the child reveals that she has lost multiple family members to drug addiction, including her aunt and uncle to fentanyl addiction. As most of you already know, her famous dad also died from a drug overdose.

“I felt like I had to do something to help this crisis,” Hillman said of her documentary project.

I came up with the idea to do a four-part docuseries on fentanyl and drug addiction. I want to show the world the point of view from a child’s perspective. I know that others are going through some of the same things,” she added.

Hillman is raising funds for the doc to cover “the production costs to get started,” she said.

“These funds will be used for pre and post-production. All donations are greatly appreciated and will help me get closer to my goal of educating, spreading awareness, and saving lives,” she wrote on the campaign page.

According to the CDC, fentanyl is a “synthetic opioid that is up to 50 times stronger than heroin and 100 times stronger than morphine. It is a major contributor to fatal and nonfatal overdoses in the U.S.”

“Fentanyl is affecting every gender, race, class and age group,” Hillman said.

DMX’s battle with addiction started when he was age 14.

At the time of this publishing, Hillman has raised $9,431 of the $250,000 goal.
