Kelly Rowland Educated Peter Rosenberg After He Compared Her to Beyoncé | WATCH

*Why do some people still keep comparing Kelly Rowland with Beyonce? When will Rowland finally be judged by her contributions and unique abilities?

Not too long ago the songbird visited a radio show, only to be subjected to yet another round of comparison. Kelly Rowland visited Hot 97, in the company of actress Marsai Martin. They were interviewed by Ebro Darden, Peter Rosenberg, and Laura Stylez about their movie “Fantasy Football,” that streaming on Paramount+.

It was during the live interview that Rosenberg took a wrong turn when he asked Rowland to discuss her ability to “play second to Beyoncé.”

“Everyone who gets in the entertainment business gets in to be the man,” he began. “[For example] just me working with Ebro, my ego has to be in check.”

Then Rosenberg got to the point: “And you happen to be standing next to the brightest light on planet Earth. You think Big Boi from Outkast has it tough being next to Andre, and you’re with Beyoncé. Not only did you not fight it, but it also seems you like you really love the position you were in.”

When Rowland finally got the time to speak, it turned out she had some really wise teachings worth jotting down.

Said she: “Light attracts light, and I am light. So I am a beautiful brown shining light. I don’t think anybody’s light dims anyone else’s. I think that when other people start to compare you, I think that shows how dim they are of themselves.”

Rowland has been in music for over 20 years; she has sold over 40 million records in her solo work. Additionally, her worldwide number-one single“Dilemma” featuring Nelly made her the first Destiny’s Child member to achieve a Billboard Hot 100 hit.

Fans were infuriated by Rosenburg’s remarks. Most online users who reacted felt he should not have brought up the issue during the interview.

Sample these:

“Kelly Rowland is a grown woman with her own career, her own accolades, and her own dreams. Pls stop asking her about Beyoncé every time you talk to her.”

“Kelly called him out to his face & he still didn’t get it. Even, Marsai Martin caught it. Outside of Destiny’s Child, Thee Kelly Rowland is an international superstar, actress, author & businesswoman! She’s been in this industry 25+ years & in 2022 you’re still comparing??????”

Well, guess what? Out of the dustup, Rosenberg has since apologized and walked back his question and frame of mind.

According to a Twitter thread, Rosenberg replied to two users, @IamHarmony and @MrJeromeTrammel, who called him out for the insensitive comments towards Rowland, saying “he didn’t get it.”

“Lol I did get it…I hated my question…clumsy and stupid…dropped her a line to apologize for how it came off,” Rosenberg replied.

Additionally, Rosenberg contacted Rowland after realizing that she seemed upset. Check out what the radio personality also had to say via the video below.
