First Trailer Drops for ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ | Watch

*The first trailer has dropped for “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,” the follow-up to 2018’s Oscar-winning animated “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.”

Shameik Moore returns to voice the voice Miles Morales, the titular character. The cast also includes Luna Lauren Vélez as Rio, Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy/Spider-Gwen and Jake Johnson as Peter Parker. Daniel Kaluuya, Rachel Dratch, Brian Tyree Henry, Issa Rae and Oscar Isaac also lend their voices to the project, CNN reports.

We reported previously that Kaluuya has been tapped to voice the character of Hobart “Hobie” Brown, a.k.a. Spider-Punk in the upcoming animated feature. The Spider-Punk character was introduced in The Amazing Spider-Man Vol. 3 #10 in 2015, Complex reports. 

Per Variety: “The film follows Miles Morales as Brooklyn’s friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, plunged into the multiverse where he joins forces with Gwen Stacy and a new team of Spider-folks to face off with a villain more powerful than anything they have ever encountered.”

Directed by Justin K. Thompson, Joaquim Dos Santos and Kemp Power, “Across the Spider-Verse” is scheduled to be released on June 2, 2023.

The third installment of the trilogy, “Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse,” is slated for March 29, 2024.
