*Tiny Harris is speaking out about the status of T.I.’s relationship with his teen daughter Deyjah, following the controversy last November when he revealed that he takes her to the gynecologist for virginity testing.
“This is the thing,” he said on an episode of Nazanin Mandi’s Ladies Like Us podcast. “Deyjah’s 18, just graduated high school now and she’s attending her first year of college, figuring it out for herself. And yes, not only have we had the conversation, we have yearly trips to the gynecologist to check her hymen.”
The rapper caught major heat over the comments, and later responded to the backlash by claiming that he was only joking.

His wife Tiny addressed the issue while promoting their reality show “T.I. & Tiny: Friends & Family Hustle” on Entertainment Tonight. Harris said T.I. and Deyjah are doing “really good,” and that fans will get to see more of their bond on the show.
“You’re gonna see Tip going through some things with Deyjah,” Tiny said. “That is one of the biggest things our family had to deal with this season. It was a big deal. Their relationship is definitely much better now because Deyjah is a very bright girl. Her dad just wants to love on her, so any time he’s around her, he just can’t stop loving on her. They’ve been doing really good.”
“There’s a lot of conversation,” she added. “A lot of talking, a lot of back-and-forth trying to figure out where the biggest problem was. And understanding how she feels, where he was coming from and what he actually meant by whatever he said. There was no malicious ill intent in his reason for speaking on it. So, understanding that and her knowing that [helped] bridge the gap.”
During an episode of “Red Table Talk,” T.I. explained that Deyjah’s mother, R&B singer Ms. Niko, was always present during their daughter’s OBGYN visits and that he’s never been in the room while she’s undergoing an exam. He has, however, been informed about the results. He also noted that Deyjah had “no objection” to him accompanying her to appointments, but admitted that she was embarrassed he made public a private matter.
“I understand it and I am incredibly apologetic to her,” T.I. said on the Facebook Watch series. “Not to any of these other strangers or any of these weirdos who toss lies around for free,” he added.
“My daughter said, ‘Let it go, don’t say nothing, just let it go,’ and I didn’t [say anything] … Until I had different directives. ‘Okay, go ahead, make it stop. Clear it up.’ I would not be here today had I not had those different directives. I’d still be sitting in silence.”
Following T.I.‘s appearance on “Red Table Talk,” Ms. Niko, took to Instagram to share her reaction to the interview.

Meanwhile Tiny also told ET that T.I. hasn’t seen Deyjah a lot due to the quarantine.“We’ve seen all the kids, but her, only but once or twice.”
