*Meek Mill has been added to Hot 97’s Summer Jam lineup, joining Kendrick Lamar, Lil Wayne, ASAP Ferg, Remy Ma, Rich the Kid, and more at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on June 10.
“We are happy to welcome our man Meek Mill is to the Summer Jam stage,” Hot 97 personality and assistant program director Ebro Darden said in a statement Thursday. “He has been through hell and what he needs is mad love and our continued support.”
The radio station is also donating $10,000 to the Justice League NYC, a “task force” within the organization Gathering for Justice that was integral in securing Meek’s release from prison last month. According to its website, Justice League NYC is “a diverse group of young criminal justice experts, direct service providers, activists, advocates, artists and formerly incarcerated individuals bringing their resources to the table to create a blueprint to reform the criminal and social justice system in NY City and State.”
“Can we land a chopper at MetLife Stadium?” Meek told Darden on the air. “I can’t miss Summer Jam.”
