*Kodak Black is looking to reset his life, beginning with the removal of his legal name.
According to TMZ, a Florida judge has granted the rapper’s request to change his name from Dieuson Octave to Bill K. Kapri.
His attorney, Bradford Cohen, says his client wanted a “fresh start” in the middle of his legal woes and incarceration on two probation violations.
The artist will still go by Kodak Black professionally upon his release from prison, which may come as soon as October.
Meanwhile, a child services investigation against Kapri has been dropped, according to Cohen. The agency launched its probe after the January arrest where his child was in the house along with marijuana and ammunition.
The rapper has reportedly been taking parenting classes while in jail, along with working on his GED.
