*Whoa! Here’s one that caught us by surprise. We’re talking about Richard Sherman of all people signing with the San Francisco 49ers. Yes, those 49ers … the team that Sherman tormented for most of his seven seasons in Seattle, especially from 2011 to ’13, when San Francisco and Seattle were the running things in the Western Conference of the NFL.
But then, what was he supposed to do? Afterall, he was let go by the Seahawks, the only NFL team he had ever played for. So it stands to reason that Sherman, an all-pro cornerback, decided his next move would be to play for a contending team, which is how the 49ers are being regarded as they get ready for the upcoming season.
So, on Sunday, two days after parting with Seattle, Sherman signed with San Francisco. His deal is reported to be worth up to $39 million.
