*An upheaval looks to be on the horizon for the sixth season of ABC’s “Scandal.”
Newly released key art for the Shonda Rhimes series shows Kerry Washington’s Olivia Pope staring at us over the tagline: “The balance of power is about to shift.”
An earlier teaser promo boasted that the drama will “live up to the hype” within the first 10 minutes of its January 19 season premiere.
We left off in Season 5 with the show’s presidential candidates set to reveal their running mates, and White House Chief of Staff Cyrus Beene (Jeff Perry) in possession of intel that could upend the entire race.
“Scandal” Season 6 will air at 9 p.m. Thursdays, following “Grey’s Anatomy”at 8 and preceding “How to Get Away With Murder” at 10.
Tony Goldwyn, Scott Foley, Darby Stanchfield, Katie Lowes, Guillermo Diaz, Bellamy Young, Joshua Molina, Portia de Rossi and Cornelius Smith Jr. also star.
