D’Angelo Set to Pay Tribute to Bill Withers at Upcoming Concert

*Bill Withers’ influence on the music world will take center stage at an upcoming tribute concert at Carnegie Hall.

According to Jet, D’Angelo will be on hand to for the tribute, which is set to take place Oct. 1. The “Really Love” singer, along with Ledisi and Ed Sheeran will be among the artists celebrating Withers, who will make a rare appearance at the show, which is called “Lean On Him.”

The entertainers are expected to perform several songs from Withers’ catalog, including his 1973 album “Live at Carnegie Hall.”

News of the tribute concert comes after Withers was inducted in to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame back in April.

D’Angelo, Ledisi and Sheeran are the latest singers to pay tribute to Withers. Jhene Aiko honored the music legend last month with her rendition of his classic hits “Ain’t No Sunshine” and “Lovely Day.”

Tickets for the “Lean On Him” concert range from $48 to $10,000. All profits from the show will benefit the Stuttering Association for the Young, an organization that Withers is close to. The famed vocalist has stuttered since childhood.
