*Production is underway in Germany on “Morris From America,” which stars Craig Robinson and Carla Juri in a coming-of-age tale from director Chad Hartigan.

The story follows a 13-year-old hip-hop-loving American boy Morris (newcomer Markees Christmas) who moves to Heidelberg with his father (Robinson) and is forced to navigate the trials and tribulations of adolescence in a foreign place.

Juri plays Morris’ German tutor and chief confidant. Lina Keller, Jakub Gierszal, Eva Löbau and Levin Henning co-star.

“Morris From America,” a romantic drama, is a bit of a departure for Robinson, a comedic actor whose NBC sitcom “Mr. Robinson” debuts August 5.
