*You’ve watched Terry Crews as Detective Sergeant Terry Jeffords on FOX’s award winning “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” since 2013. Now look for the 6’3 245 lb actor to host a new FOX show, “World’s Funniest Fails.”
“I’m trying to break the stigma of failure, the stigma of losing and all that. You win by losing. That’s the only way to go,” Crews said. “Make a mistake, get out there, do something and try something you never tried before. You’re probably not going to do it the first time, but it’s okay. It’s about keeping going.”
The one hour unscripted comedy series premiering Friday, January 16 from 8:00-9:00 p.m. ET/PT on the Fox is inspired by the hit YouTube channel, FailArmy, which showcases the best “epic fail” viral videos.
You’ll see all kinds of videos that will crack you up. One video is of a toddler playing golf who putts the ball into the hole the first time but is unsuccessful on a second try. It is hilarious to watch him after the failed attempt because he goes into a well, childish crying fit.
Each week a panel of celebrities and comedians will analyze the videos which have exploded across the Internet, with the goal of awarding one with the ultimate “Fail of the Week.”
Crews says what sets his show apart from a lot of the others that are similar to his is that “World’s Funniest Fails” is family friendly.
“It’s for everyone. A lot of times these kind of shows get mean, and we’re not going to go there,” “The White Chicks” standout proclaimed. “It’s going to be non-stop laughter, fun for the whole family.”
The former NFL player promises to be lively when he’s hosting the show.
“I’m all over the stage. The one thing about me is I’m an official honey baked ham. When a camera is on, I have no problem with it,” Crews said with a laugh.
Crews is also host of the syndicated “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” – a gig he’s had since September of 2014.
