*Kim Kardashian has decided to sit out the California Bar Exam for the remainder of 2026, and sources say she is eyeing a return to the test no sooner than 2027.
Kardashian, who publicly acknowledged failing the exam in November 2025, skipped the February 2026 sitting and will bypass the July exam as well. According to sources familiar with her plans, she is not expected to attempt the test again until at least February 2027 — though that timeline has not been confirmed.
The decision comes down to preparation — and the reality that her schedule has left little room for it. “Kim has a packed schedule and has been heavily involved in filming and production for several projects so she decided it’s best to skip this round of the bar exam and focus on taking it again when she feels ready,” a source told Page Six.
People close to Kardashian say she refused to walk into the exam underprepared. “When Kim has her mind made up on something, she gives it her all, and this isn’t something she’s taking lightly,” the insider explained.
Managing an empire of business ventures, active filming projects, and the full-time demands of motherhood on her own has left virtually no window for the months of concentrated study the exam requires. “Most people who take the bar exam dedicate months leading up to the test and focus all their energy on preparing. But she is working nonstop as a single mom and trying to do it all,” the source added.
The public nature of her legal journey has only intensified the stakes. “This exam can put a lot of pressure on anybody. There’s a lot at stake and she’s put so much time and effort into this already,” the insider shared. “But on top of that, there are so many eyes on her, so it just adds a whole other level of weight to it.”
Despite the delay, those close to her are clear that this is not a surrender. “She has no plan on giving up on her dreams, but when she takes the test again, she wants to go into it feeling confident,” the source concluded.
