*Eve may have built her name in American hip-hop, but these days, England feels like home.
During a recent appearance on “The Romesh Ranganathan Show,” the Philadelphia-born rapper reflected on life overseas with her husband, British entrepreneur Maximillion Cooper. Eve said she has lived in England for “almost 12 years” and no longer views the move as temporary.
“When Max and I got married, I was kinda like, three years, tops. Three, four years … once [the kids] got older, too, I was like, ‘Oh, well, we could probably live somewhere else,’ ” Eve said, The Root reports.
That timeline changed as her life in Britain deepened. Cooper, whom Eve married in 2014, founded and leads Gumball 3000, a lifestyle brand known for celebrity motor racing events. He has four children from his previous marriage.

“It’s crazy how much I feel at home. In my soul, in my spirit, I feel home,” Eve said, adding, “I love it.”
Her long stay has sparked another conversation among fans. Some listeners have pointed out what they hear as a slight British accent when Eve speaks in interviews or on social media. She acknowledged that her surroundings have influenced her speech, but pushed back on the idea that she has lost her American identity.
“I am so American still,” she said, PEOPLE reports. “I will say, though, if you — it’s funny, like on my socials now, when I do interviews and things, people are like, ‘Oh, I hear that British accent,’ or my friends will say to me, ‘Did you hear what you just said?’ I’ve obviously taken on some things, but I am so loud and American still.”
Eve and Cooper welcomed their son, Wilde Wolfe, in February 2022. She recently marked the 25th anniversary of “Scorpion” with a Tiny Desk performance that passed 1 million views. Eve is also preparing for a UK tour.
