*Fox Sports has terminated Joy Taylor’s talk show “Speak,” co-hosted with Keyshawn Johnson and Paul Pierce, as part of a broader programming shakeup, per The Athletic.
The network also axed “Breakfast Ball” and “The Facility,” with new shows slated to replace them, though details remain undisclosed. Taylor, a Fox Sports veteran since 2016, faced mounting challenges this year, including a lawsuit and a social media scandal. Her contract negotiations, discussed on “The Breakfast Club” in June, have now concluded with her exit.
In February, Taylor was absent from “Speak” for three days following a social media post showing her biting corn on the cob in a suggestive manner, sparking widespread debate. The photo fueled speculation about its impact on her career, with observers questioning her judgment. The incident added to her public scrutiny, already heightened by a lawsuit filed by former Fox Sports hairstylist Noushin Faraji.
Faraji’s lawsuit accused Fox Sports’ executive vice president, Charlie Dixon, and host Skip Bayless of sexual battery, alleging Taylor had romantic relationships with Dixon and Emmanuel Acho to secure roles on “Speak” and “Undisputed.”
Faraji claimed Taylor bullied her after a falling out, telling her to “get over it” when she raised concerns about Dixon’s alleged inappropriate touching. She also alleged that Taylor threatened to claim Dixon “forced himself on her” when he was “no longer useful to her.”
Taylor addressed the controversy on “The Breakfast Club,” saying, “I have felt a lot of different emotions. I think it’s a grief process when anything like that happens.”
The combination of the lawsuit’s allegations and the provocative social media post created a turbulent period for Taylor, culminating in Fox Sports’ decision to cancel “Speak.” As the network moves forward with new programming, Taylor’s departure marks the end of a challenging chapter for the prominent sports journalist.
