*The former spouse of Craig Mack has come forward with allegations that the deceased rapper’s HIV infection was no accident.
Roxanne Alexis Hill-Johnson, who shares two children with the late artist, expressed her conviction that Mack’s contraction of AIDS resulted from intentional harm. During a conversation with The Art of Dialogue, Hill-Johnson revealed that she learned about his AIDS diagnosis two weeks before his death.
“The kids knew he had been sick, but no one told them what was wrong,” Hill-Johnson said, adding that the coroner informed her that the “Flava In Ya Ear” rapper was probably sick for a decade. She explained that Mack went “unmedicated, all those years. Why? I don’t know. So, if you do the math, that puts him back in New York when he got sick.”
“I believe him getting sick was something that was intentional,” Hill-Johnson explained in the clip above. “Craig was a very heterosexual man. He liked women. He liked the company of women. So when people were saying, ‘Oh, he was gay.’ He wasn’t gay. Someone got to him.”
She also recalled an incident where Mack advised a fellow male artist to exercise caution within the music business, alerting him that someone might try to “poison” him with an STI (sexually transmitted infection).
As Complex reports, HIV/AIDS-related complications were listed as the official cause on Craig Mack’s death certificate, but his family honored his preference and “repeated his assertion that he had congestive heart failure.” Hill-Johnson believes Mack either refused medication for his condition or concealed any treatment he may have received.
Mack was an artist with Bad Boy Records during the 1990s before stepping away from music in the 2000s. He passed away in 2018 at age 47.
