Coronavirus May ‘Never Go Away’ Claims World Health Organization Expert

According to CNN, a leading WHO expert, Dr. Mike Ryan, executive director of the WHO’s health emergency program, said last Wednesday that COVID-19 is spreading across the globe and could become a constant presence.

“This virus just may become another endemic virus in our communities and this virus may never go away. HIV hasn’t gone away,” Ryan said. “I’m not comparing the two diseases but I think it is important that we’re realistic. I don’t think anyone can predict when or if this disease will disappear.”

He continued: “I don’t think anyone can predict when or if this disease will disappear.” According to Johns Hopkins University, some 4.3 million cases of the virus have been recorded worldwide so far.
