*Tyson Beckford shared a wild account of a near-fatal clash with Sean “Diddy” Combs and members of his former Bad Boy crew from decades ago in New York City.
During an appearance on The Breakfast Club, the model and actor recalled chatting with a friend outside a tattoo shop when stylist Groovey Lew interrupted to ask him to pose for a photo with a woman. “I said, ‘Yo, my man, I’m having a conversation,’” Beckford recalled, per Vibe.
The situation escalated quickly. “He started getting tough. I said, ‘Lew, don’t talk to me like that.’ Next thing you know, he swung on me.” The fight reportedly left Beckford with a bleeding head injury that required six stitches. He claimed an NYPD officer briefly stopped but drove off after both sides minimized what had occurred. But that wasn’t the end.
Beckford said Lew, closely tied to Diddy at the time, returned with Combs and several others from the nearby Bad Boy office. With his friend gone and outnumbered, Beckford said he went to his vehicle to retrieve a pistol-grip Mossberg shotgun.

“I said, ‘Look, I only got five [shells] in here,’” he told the show’s hosts. “Puff, you going to get it first… I’m going to shower the rest of y’all with it.” Despite the grave threat, the situation reportedly de-escalated before any shots were fired.
“I could have saved the world a whole lot of trouble and took him out back then. But then where would I be?”
Earlier this month, Combs was convicted of transportation to engage in prostitution but acquitted of more serious charges, including racketeering and sex trafficking, following a high-profile trial. Beckford made it clear that he “ain’t seen the man in years.”
He also discussed taking legal action against Diddy back in the day over a modeling contract with the Sean John clothing brand. “I was too straight for him, and he was just on whatever he was on,” Beckford said. “Karma is where it’s at.”
Beckford intends to unpack the full story in his upcoming memoir titled “Pretty Boy.”
“I’m doing the book,” he confirmed. “And all of that’s going to be in Pretty Boy. That’s a cold scene — standing on Sixth Avenue with a shotgun.”
