*Tyrese Gibson has confirmed that his divorce from Samantha Gibson is finally over.
Gibson posted a lengthy message on Instagram noting that the experience was “one of the most emotionally draining seasons of my life.” He claimed the divorce process cost him nearly $2 million in legal fees and came with widespread public fallout tied to the court disputes.
The actor and singer wrote that he “endured almost $50 million worth of public scrutiny, PR damage, and reputational attacks” linked to the divorce and child support issues that unfolded openly over several years.

Gibson also outlined plans to celebrate his freedom. “First stop: Turks and Caicos Birthday and New Years 2026!” he wrote. “Capricorn season! Birthday Dec 30th and a NYE 2026 birthday celebration LEGENDARY WHITE PARTY that will hit on NEW LEVELS.”
He emphasized his sense of triumph and faith in the post. “I’m walking proof that the cup still runneth over. [ the true bag bag stayed tucked tucked while lawyers was on the prowl FOH ],” Tyrese wrote. “I feel LIBERATED only the real ones out there can truly relate…. The devil tried! THANK YOU JESUS!! I survived!!!”
Tyrese and Samantha married in 2017 and filed for divorce in 2020. They share a daughter, Soraya. Gibson is now seeking primary custody of the 7-year-old, alleging that his ex-wife moved their daughter more than 2,500 miles away without his consent.
According to Us, the “Fast & Furious” star filed court documents on October 3 claiming he opposed the move from Georgia to Oregon, where Samantha and Soraya now live. His filing included a text message in which he objected to Samantha’s relocation request.
“No, Samantha. No way. No how. I do not agree,” he wrote. “The [previous agreement] we made regarding school selection was never tied to any out-of-state relocation for Soraya. It was specific to Atlanta and the surrounding areas, where I could still be an active and present father. Any attempt to twist that into consent for a cross-country move is manipulative, baseless, and directly against Georgia law.”
The custody dispute remains unresolved
