*Teyana Taylor has been ordered to pay $70,000 in legal fees to her ex-husband, Iman Shumpert, following a contentious divorce hearing on July 25.
According to Page Six, the court found Taylor in contempt for breaching their 2024 divorce agreement by posting an Instagram video in March that discussed their divorce, violating confidentiality terms.
“It is very heartbreaking that someone would take out the time to make such a private matter public for the world to see,” Taylor had previously shared on Instagram Stories in November 2023, expressing her dismay over public leaks.
Shumpert accused Taylor of disclosing sensitive details, while Taylor countered that he leaked information to the press. The judge dismissed her claim, citing insufficient evidence. Additionally, Taylor’s refusal to answer questions about her assets and income, which she deemed “completely irrelevant to any issue,” further complicated her case.
The court rejected her request for Shumpert to cover her legal fees but also denied his motion to hold her in contempt over alleged parenting plan violations.

The divorce, filed by Taylor in January 2023, has been fraught with tension. She accused Shumpert of “treating her cruelly and displaying extreme narcissistic behavior throughout the majority of their marriage.”
Shumpert denied these allegations, requesting that the divorce reason be changed to an “irretrievable broken bond” and asserting that Taylor failed to prove any mistreatment.
Earlier, Shumpert sought to have Taylor jailed for 20 days, fined $1,000, and held in criminal contempt for violating confidentiality and allegedly using “crude and inflammatory racial insults” in front of their daughters, Iman “Junie” Tayla Shumpert Jr., 9, and Rue Rose Shumpert, 4. Taylor firmly denied these claims, calling them “baseless” in a May 14 response.
