*Teyana Taylor is pushing back against Iman Shumpert’s attempt to have her jailed, calling his claims of misconduct, including racial insults and custody violations, completely unfounded.
In newly filed court documents, Shumpert accuses his ex-wife of violating a confidentiality clause in their divorce judgment and exposing private terms publicly, leading to what he says is personal and professional damage. He’s asking the court to find Taylor in criminal contempt, fine her $1,000, and sentence her to 20 days behind bars, Complex reports.
The motion also claims Taylor removed their daughters from school without a proper excuse and blocked Shumpert’s attempt to pick them up. Most seriously, it alleges Taylor shouted “crude and inflammatory racial insults” at him in the presence of their children, causing emotional stress and undermining his relationship with them.
“Denigrating and insulting [Iman] in the presence of his children is a … violation of the orders of this court,” his legal team wrote.
But Taylor is not backing down. In a May 14 response obtained by In Touch, she denied all of Shumpert’s accusations, including any verbal attacks or breach of court orders. She called the suggestion that she endangered the privacy, safety, or emotional well-being of their family “baseless” and rejected his claims of reputational harm.

This heated back-and-forth follows Taylor’s recent request to hold Shumpert in contempt for allegedly leaking sealed court documents, though she clarified she had no desire to see him incarcerated.
As the legal battle escalates, the once high-profile couple continues to clash over custody and confidentiality, each accusing the other of misconduct while maintaining innocence themselves.
