*The wait is almost over — Netflix has officially dropped the trailer for the fifth and final season of “Stranger Things,” promising the biggest Hawkins showdown yet. Watch the clip above.
The final chapter will roll out in three parts: the first four episodes premiere on November 26, 2025, followed by three more on December 25, with the grand finale landing on New Year’s Eve. All episodes will debut at 5:00 p.m. PST, with global release times varying.
Set in the fall of 1987, “Stranger Things” Season 5 picks up as Hawkins reels from the chaos unleashed by the opening of the Rifts. “Our heroes are united by a single goal: find and kill Vecna. But he has vanished — his whereabouts and plans unknown,” the official synopsis reads.
The government’s crackdown on Eleven and the military quarantine over Hawkins raise the stakes even higher. As the anniversary of Will’s disappearance nears, so does a familiar darkness — one more powerful than ever.

Series creators Matt and Ross Duffer teased that long-buried secrets about the Upside Down will finally come to light, drawn from a 25-page mythology document written during Season 1. “We’ve saved a few big reveals for this season,” Ross confirmed.
The beloved cast returns — Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, and Jamie Campbell Bower — joined by Linda Hamilton as Dr. Kay. According to the Duffers, the season opens in full-blown chaos. “Nothing in Hawkins is normal anymore,” Matt said, per Netflix’s Tudum.
Executive producer Shawn Levy added that while the scale is bigger than ever, the heart of the story remains the same: “It’s always anchored in these characters we love.”
Speaking about the final season, series star Millie Bobby Brown had this to say about her character Eleven: “Eleven is in training mode. She’s in a warrior state, which is the first time you see Eleven like that at the beginning of a season. As for her mindset, all she is thinking about is protecting her friends. Her friends are her chosen family, so she will do whatever it takes to protect them.”
