*“Star Wars: Visions” is returning to Disney+ with its third installment, set to premiere on October 29, 2025. The anthology continues to celebrate “Star Wars” mythology through the lens of diverse animation styles and cultural storytelling.
Volume 3 features nine shorts from nine different Japanese anime studios, including david production, Kamikaze Douga + ANIMA, Kinema citrus Co., Polygon Pictures, Production I.G, Project Studio Q, TRIGGER, and WIT STUDIO. The series highlights the creativity and diversity of Japanese animation while exploring new corners of the Star Wars universe.
The first volume of “Star Wars: Visions,” which premiered in 2021, received an Emmy® nomination for the short, “The Duel.” The Emmy, Lumière, and Annie Award-winning second volume, released in 2023, featured shorts from global animation studios such as Aardman, Cartoon Saloon, Triggerfish, and Punkrobot. Volume 3 returns to its anime roots with nine original shorts.
Executive producers for Volume 3 include James Waugh, Josh Rimes, and Jacqui Lopez, with Justin Leach serving as co-executive producer. Producers Flannery Huntley and Kanako Shirasaki also join the project.

Among the featured shorts, Kamikaze Douga + ANIMA presents “The Duel: Payback,” in which Ronin confronts a twisted Jedi Grand Master bent on revenge. Project Studio Q’s “The Song of Four Wings” follows a princess-turned-rebel protecting a child on a snowbound planet. Production I.G’s “The Ninth Jedi: Child of Hope” tells the story of Kara, pursued by Jedi Hunters and finding a mysterious ship in space. Other shorts include WIT STUDIO’s “The Bounty Hunters,” Kinema citrus Co.’s “Yuko’s Treasure” and “The Lost Ones,” TRIGGER’s “The Smuggler,” Polygon Pictures’ “The Bird of Paradise,” and david production’s “BLACK.”
Each short features both Japanese and English voice casts, including notable actors such as Brian Tee, Stephanie Hsu, Kimiko Glenn, Emma Myers, Sonoya Mizuno, and many more. Directors for each studio’s short bring distinct storytelling styles that expand the Star Wars universe while honoring the legacy of the franchise.
“Star Wars: Visions” Volume 3 promises to offer fans an imaginative, visually stunning collection of animated tales, continuing the acclaimed anthology’s exploration of mythology, heroism, and adventure. Watch the traielr above.
