*Stephen A. Smith weighed in on Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl LIX halftime performance, which featured a surprise cameo from Serena Williams.
The tennis legend was spotted doing the crip walk during “Not Like Us,” Lamar’s diss track aimed at Drake—whom Williams allegedly dated in 2011. Her appearance sparked debate online, with many questioning if it was intentional.
Smith joked that if he were married to Williams, he’d consider divorce over her halftime moment.
“If I’m married and my wife is going to join trolling her ex, go back to his a**,” he said. “‘Cause clearly you don’t belong with me. What you worried about him for and you’re with me? Bye!”
Smith’s co-host Ryan Clark responded, “If you were with Serena Williams, you’re going to be a kept man anyways. Don’t start that.”

Williams is married to Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian and they share two daughters. After her halftime performance, Serena shared a clip on X, formerly Twitter, showing her backstage and joking: “Man, I did not crip walk like that at Wimbledon! Ooh, I would’ve been fined!”

Fans find it surprising that Williams performed the Crip Walk, a dance associated with gang culture, despite the tragic loss of her sister Yetunde Price, who was an innocent victim of gang violence. Crips gang member Robert Maxfield was sentenced to 15 years for voluntary manslaughter.
