*Nicki Minaj shocked fans after declaring she’s walking away from music and directing her anger toward Jay-Z.
On October 15, she tweeted, “Ok I’m not going to put out the album anymore. No more music,” tagging Jay-Z and adding, “Hope you’re happy now. Bye, Barbz. Love you for life.” The announcement halted anticipation for her next album, which she had previously teased for release on March 27, 2026. Despite her declaration, “3.27.26 = BRAND NEW ALBUM” remains pinned to the top of her X (formerly Twitter) profile.
As Distractify reports, Minaj’s fury toward Jay-Z and Roc Nation has deep roots. The feud reportedly stems from her 3 percent stake in TIDAL, the streaming platform once led by Jay-Z. When Square (now Block, Inc.) bought TIDAL in 2021, Minaj claimed she received just $1 million, though she believes she was owed closer to $9 million. In a July 2025 post, she accused Jay-Z of owing her “a karmic debt” worth between $100 million and $200 million. She wrote, “We’ve calculated about 100-200MM so far. #JayZ call me to settle this karmic debt. It’s only collecting more interest. You still in my TOP 5 tho. Let’s get it nigga. And anyone still calling him Hov will answer to God for the blasphemy.”

Nicki noted that if the alleged debt was repaid, she would use the funds to erase her fans’ student loans through her #StudentOfTheGame initiative. “Karmic debt,” she wrote, suggesting that the injustice would keep growing with interest. Her posts also reignited political controversy when she alleged Jay-Z secretly supported Donald Trump, noting that Roc Nation CEO Desiree Perez was pardoned by Trump in 2021.
Following those claims, Minaj intensified her attacks in October, specifically targeting Roc Nation and Perez by name. “OH BROKE NATION how’d you go so fkng broke? Like who in their right fkng mind would sign to you?” she tweeted. In another post, she added, “YOU GOT BIGGER FISH TO FRY BOOKIE. conspiracy. False imprisonment. Civil rights violation. Oh cock nation yall suck.”
The “Super Bass” artist also suggested she’s being targeted by the industry. “They don’t want me to put out music. Me winning makes them feel like they lost. They’re right,” she posted. “Fuming b/c they can’t siphon anymore energy, money, blessings, love, grace, joy, PEACE… the culture.”
Her tirade didn’t stop there. She mocked Jay-Z’s failed Times Square casino bid and accused Roc Nation of “begging” her for a tour and album. “They came BEGGING the QUEEN for a tour & album & I said NOPE!!!!! LMFAO,” she wrote. “Wanted to patch it up. They needed help from the QUEEN & the BARBZ.”
The posts capped off a turbulent few weeks that also saw Minaj feuding online with Cardi B and facing headlines over a $500,000 court judgment involving her husband, Kenneth Petty.
