*Mystikal’s son Million Tyler spoke out days after his father received a 20-year prison sentence for rape. The 55-year-old Grammy-nominated rapper accepted a plea deal last month in connection with a 2022 assault at his Louisiana home, and a judge later imposed the maximum sentence.
Police recovered a videotape from Mystikal’s home that documented the attack. The victim testified that he choked her, punched her, and raped her. She told investigators that Mystikal and two bodyguards forced her to perform oral sex after he accused her of stealing $80,000 in checks.
During the trial, Mystikal stood in court and said, “If I did that to you, I deserve the max sentence.”
Tyler told TMZ that the situation has been painful on all sides. “I feel bad for the victim and for my father. Nobody wins from these situations. It’s hard for both parties, if we’re being honest,” he said. The rapper, who records as BagBaby Milli, also had a message for his father: “I hope you get the help you need.”

The sentencing caps years of serious legal trouble. A 2003 sexual battery conviction put Mystikal behind bars for seven years. After his release, he registered as a sex offender. He faced rape and kidnapping charges again in 2017, spent 18 months jailed on a $3 million bond, and those charges were eventually dropped for lack of evidence.
A civil lawsuit tied to the current rape case remains active. According to TMZ, the woman who filed the suit said she visited Mystikal’s Prairieville, Louisiana, home in July 2022 and that the encounter began on friendly terms. The complaint states that the rapper’s demeanor changed after he emerged from a bathroom and accused her of stealing money.
In the filing, the woman said Mystikal, born Michael Tyler, struck her in the face and choked her until she nearly lost consciousness. She alleged that the incident left her with bruises, scrapes, a laceration, missing hair, and a broken fingernail and caused emotional distress.
