*Mike Epps is making it clear—he has no plans to appear on Club Shay Shay.
During a recent interview on The Breakfast Club (March 4), the comedian criticized host Shannon Sharpe for what he sees as an uneven approach to interviewing Black and white guests on his podcast, Vibe reports.
“Naw, I ain’t going to do no Club Shay Shay,” Epps stated before calling out Sharpe for “grilling” Black celebrities while giving white guests a pass. “Shannon Sharpe, y’all got to bring some white men on here and grill them,” he challenged.
Epps accused Sharpe of using negative narratives about Black guests as “click-bait” to generate views. “You can’t just grill Black people, that sh*t ain’t right,” he continued. “And I know we make money off clickbaiting, but clickbait them white folks. Get some of your NFL players that you know was f**ked up. Get him on his show.”
Epps insisted his comments weren’t about race but about balance.

“We’ve got to balance it out, man,” he urged. “Shannon Sharpe, if you’re listening, we want to see you interview some of them white football players that was in the NFL that was f**ked up just to balance [it out].”
While Club Shay Shay has primarily featured Black entertainers, Sharpe has also interviewed white guests, including Dana White, Gary Owen, and Teddy Swims.
“You can’t just interview Black men and let them pour out all they pain on these on these podcasts, man,” Epps stated. “That’s some bullsh*t.”
As Vibe noted, Mike’s remarks surprised some, especially since he and Sharpe publicly reconciled during NBA All-Star Weekend in 2024 after previously exchanging heated words online.
Launched in September 2020 as a Fox Sports podcast, Club Shay Shay debuted with an episode featuring Shannon’s brother, Sterling Sharpe. In August 2023, Sharpe signed a multi-year deal to bring the show to The Volume, a digital podcast network founded by Colin Cowherd.
Club Shay Shay gained widespread attention in 2024, particularly with Sharpe’s January 3 interview with comedian Katt Williams, which went viral. Later that year, his October interview with U.S. presidential candidate Kamala Harris also made national headlines.
