*A second chapter in one of boxing’s most talked-about matchups is now official. Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao are scheduled to face each other on September 19 in Las Vegas at Sphere. The event will be carried globally by Netflix as part of the streamer’s continued expansion into live sports, the Daily Mail reports.
The matchup reunites the two fighters more than ten years after their 2015 encounter, which ended in a unanimous decision in Mayweather’s favor. Details including the weight division and number of rounds for the upcoming fight have yet to be announced.
For Mayweather, 49, the Pacquiao event signals a return to professional boxing for the first time since 2017. His most recent official appearance came that year when he secured a knockout victory over Conor McGregor. Before stepping back into sanctioned competition, Mayweather is also expected to take part in an exhibition this spring against Mike Tyson, though organizers have not confirmed the date or venue.
We reported earlier that Tyson expressed excitement about facing Mayweather. “This fight is something neither the world nor I ever thought would or could happen,” he said. “However, boxing has entered a new era of the unpredictable — and this fight is as unpredictable as it gets.” Iron Mike added, “I still can’t believe Floyd wants to really do this. It’s going to be detrimental to his health, but he wants to do it, so it’s signed and it’s happening!”

Mayweather dismissed any concerns about the Tyson fight. “I’ve been doing this for 30 years and there hasn’t been a single fighter that can tarnish my legacy,” he said. “You already know that if I am going to do something, it’s going to be big and it’s going to be legendary. I’m the best in the business of boxing. This exhibition will give the fans what they want.”
Meanwhile, as he prepares for September, Pacquiao, 47, is first slated to meet Ruslan Provodnikov on April 18 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.
