*Matt Barnes and Anansa Sims are starting 2026 as a married couple, marking a new chapter in their on-again, off-again relationship. According to Essence, the couple hasn’t made an official announcement, but social media posts shared by a user offered a glimpse of their intimate wedding.
One post read, “Congrats to Mr & Mrs Barnes,” confirming the union. Sims appeared in a traditional white wedding gown, while Barnes wore a classic tuxedo. In one of the images, the couple embraced their son Ashton.
Their marriage comes after the couple ended their engagement in February 2025 after Sims accused Barnes of infidelity with eight women. Barnes later admitted his mistakes during an appearance on his podcast, All the Smoke. “I literally lost my family by being exactly what you talked about. Like, I was the strong provider, but I wasn’t there emotionally. I wasn’t empathetic. I wasn’t willing to share those emotions. That was stuff that my ex would tell me: ‘I don’t… you’re a wall,’” he said.

Sims made headlines early last year with a social media post detailing her frustration over Barnes’ cheating. She shared a meme reading, “I once loved a man so much that I was fixing him while he was breaking me,” along with a broken-heart emoji. Her caption highlighted the severity of the situation: “Why Matt?? 8 different women in January.”
Barnes and Sims have had a tumultuous relationship over the past five years, getting engaged in December 2022. Despite the drama and challenges, the couple appears to have reconciled and celebrated their commitment to one another. They have two children and Barnes also has twin boys from a previous relationship. Sims has three children from her first marriage.
