Kid Cudi Testifies About Arson, Break-In, and Diddy’s Jealousy
*Grammy-winning rapper and actor Kid Cudi took the stand Thursday in the ongoing Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs sex trafficking trial, delivering emotional and vivid testimony that painted Sean “Diddy” Combs as a man driven by jealousy and rage. The “Pursuit of Happiness” artist testified that Diddy broke into his Hollywood Hills home in 2011 and that a year later, his Porsche was destroyed by a Molotov cocktail. According to Cudi, he believes both events were tied to Diddy’s alleged anger over Cudi’s brief relationship with Cassie Ventura, Diddy’s longtime on-again, off-again girlfriend and central accuser in the case.
Cassie previously told jurors that Diddy had threatened to blow up Cudi’s car. On the stand, Cudi testified that after the fire, the two met at a Los Angeles hotel. “He was standing at the window with his hands behind his back like a Marvel supervillain,” Cudi said, adding that Diddy appeared unaware of the incident at the time. Years later, Diddy reportedly offered a vague apology, which Cudi took as a general acknowledgment of past tensions.
More Witnesses Echo Pattern of Violence and Cover-Up
Also testifying Thursday was George Kaplan, Diddy’s former assistant, who recalled a disturbing moment on a private jet in 2015. Kaplan said he heard glass shatter and turned to see Diddy towering over Cassie with a whiskey glass in hand. “Isn’t anybody seeing this?” Cassie reportedly cried out. Kaplan also admitted to once purchasing makeup to cover up Cassie’s facial injuries.
Makeup artist Mylah Morales, who worked with both Cassie and other major stars like Rihanna and Jennifer Lopez, testified that she didn’t see the actual violence but remembered Cassie’s face being swollen, her lip busted, and knots on her head after a party at Prince’s house. Her account backed up earlier claims that Diddy’s abuse was not just emotional but also physical and visible, according to NBC News.

Hotel Manager Testifies About “Excessive” Cleanup After Diddy’s Stays
Frederic Zemmour, general manager of the L’Ermitage Beverly Hills hotel, said Diddy’s stays left rooms requiring deep cleaning due to “excessive amounts of oil and candle wax.” Zemmour’s testimony may seem small compared to arson and physical violence, but it contributes to the prosecution’s picture of chaotic and disturbing behavior that often followed Diddy wherever he went. Diddy’s legal team chose not to cross-examine Zemmour.
Trial Tensions Rise Over Cassie and Cudi’s Relationship
A tense courtroom moment unfolded when defense attorney Brian Steel asked Kid Cudi about the details of his sexual relationship with Cassie. Prosecutor Maurene Comey objected sharply, calling the question “outrageous” and outside the bounds of relevance. Judge Arun Subramanian agreed, stating “the line was clear and crossed,” and ordered the exchange to be stricken from the record.
Despite the intense subject matter, the trial had a rare moment of levity when attorneys debated whether Cudi could testify about his dog’s behavior following the 2011 break-in. Prosecutors argued the animal was traumatized. The judge quipped, “He’s not going to testify to what the dog thought,” prompting laughter. In the end, the judge allowed Cudi to reference the dog’s behavior generally.
What the Arson Means for the RICO Case
The fire that destroyed Cudi’s Porsche is especially important because it could serve as one of the “predicate” crimes in the racketeering conspiracy case against Diddy. Prosecutors don’t need to prove that Diddy himself threw the Molotov cocktail—just that he agreed to be part of an enterprise that committed such acts. Even indirect involvement can be enough under the RICO statute.
Under racketeering conspiracy rules, the government only has to prove that two predicate crimes were committed or intended as part of the conspiracy. If jurors believe the arson is connected to Diddy’s alleged pattern of intimidation and control, it strengthens the broader conspiracy charge.

What’s Next in the Diddy Sex Trafficking Trial
Following Kid Cudi’s appearance, the trial will take a brief break for Memorial Day weekend and resume Tuesday, May 27. The prosecution is expected to call more witnesses and present further digital evidence tying Diddy to alleged acts of violence, coercion, and abuse. The trial is entering its third week, with attention continuing to grow both in the courtroom and across social media.
Outside the courthouse Thursday, fans and reporters waited in the rain just to catch a glimpse of Kid Cudi. After his testimony, he posted a brief 37-second video on X thanking supporters: “This is a stressful situation. I’m glad it’s behind me.”
