*Audible is launching a star-studded comedy series that reimagines retirement living through the lens of Hollywood’s most beloved comedic performers.
“Big Age,” created by Kenya Barris of “Black-ish” fame and the podcast “Unusual Suspects,” debuts exclusively on the platform this Thursday, February 5. Listen to a preview below.
Per the synopsis, the audio series centers on Dot and Butch Watts, a newly retired couple adjusting to Sunset Gardens, their new residence in a bustling Florida retirement complex. What the couple anticipated as peaceful golden years quickly spirals into comic mayhem involving amorous entanglements, vibrant personalities, and surprises that shatter their assumptions about aging gracefully.

Jenifer Lewis voices the sharp-witted Dot while her husband Butch comes to life through Cedric the Entertainer. Niecy Nash-Betts plays Ethel, a romantic interest from Butch’s youth who complicates their new chapter.
The supporting ensemble features Diarra Kilpatrick, known for “Diarra From Detroit,” and Miles Brown from “Black-ish.” Additional Sunset Gardens residents receive voices from Michael Harney, whose credits include “Orange is the New Black,” along with P.J. Byrne, Nana Visitor, Jim Meskimen, Jane Gennaro, Sophie Hayden, and Rafael Ferrer. The series merges laugh-out-loud scenarios with thoughtful examination of maintaining youthful energy regardless of age.
