*A Texas Supreme Court ruling on polling locations in Dallas County set the stage for Rep. Jasmine Crockett’s controversial claims after the state Senate primary on Tuesday. The court rejected her campaign’s request to extend voting hours amid confusion over Republican-led changes to polling locations, prompting Crockett to suggest that the race had been unfairly influenced by partisan actions, FOX News reports.
Crockett addressed supporters on Tuesday, warning about potential election irregularities and urging voters to ensure they could cast their ballots. “We cannot allow this type of behavior to be rewarded, because so long as they know that they can win, even if it means cheating, then they will continue to do it,” she said, emphasizing the importance of standing in line and verifying polling locations.
Despite these concerns, Democratic state lawmaker James Talarico was projected as the winner by the Associated Press early Wednesday morning. Crockett told supporters she did not expect election results that night, alleging Republicans specifically targeted Dallas County.

Her statements drew immediate criticism and mockery on X. Tim Carney of the Washington Examiner wrote, “If Republicans had rigged the election, Miss Crockett, the results would look a bit different.”
Heritage Foundation fellow Tim Young wrote, “Jasmine Crockett lost her Senate primary and she’s been screaming about cheating and the race card and everything else all the way down… Happy to watch her help her party continue to lose in Texas in the general election.”
Crockett ultimately conceded the primary on Wednesday and confirmed in a post to X that she had spoken with Talarico, formally acknowledging his victory. She wrote: “This morning I called James and congratulated him on becoming the Senate nominee. Texas is primed to turn blue, and we must remain united because this is bigger than any one person.”
She added, “This is about the future of all 30 million Texans and getting America back on track. With the primary behind us, Democrats must rally around our nominees and win. I’m committed to doing my part and will continue working to elect democrats up and down the ballot.”
