*Rapper Ja Rule found himself at the center of controversy after a confrontation with fellow artists Tony Yayo and Uncle Murda on a Delta flight from San Francisco to New York City on February 8, PEOPLE reports.
Video footage shows Ja Rule yelling at Yayo in the cabin before takeoff, while another man attempted to calm him by placing his hands on his shoulders. In posts on X, Ja Rule referred to the incident as “hilarious,” admitting that he “popped on these punks” and threw a pillow at Yayo. He later shared video of the altercation on his Instagram Stories, saying he clapped back at Yayo and Uncle Murda because they were “always talking s—.”
On February 12, Ja Rule issued an apology, acknowledging his behavior was inappropriate. On Instagram, he stated, “I’m not proud of my behavior. It’s goofy to me. I’m a grown man about to be a proud grandfather and I wish that video of me wasn’t out there either… I apologize to my wife, family, fans, business and investment partners.”

Uncle Murda also posted footage showing Ja Rule pop off on the plane before leaving the flight, captioning the clip: “Ja got off the plane lol I took his seat.”
In a statement to PEOPLE, a Delta spokesperson said “two customers were spoken to by the cabin crew following a disagreement” and “one customer was rebooked on a later flight.”
The incident drew attention from 50 Cent, who shared Uncle Murda’s clip on Instagram, writing, “He was by his self so he had to make a scene so they could remove his scary ass.”
Ja Rule and 50 Cent have a decades-long feud that began when they were rival rappers in Queens, New York.
