“The fun(ny) and empowering 2D-animated series invites kids and families to meet Goldie, a giant girl with a big heart, as she sets off on epic adventures with her best friends in their beloved town of Boysenberg,” per the news release. “Together, they learn that being different is something to celebrate, and that there’s space for everyone in this world — even giants. “Goldie” is a show for anyone who’s ever felt…too much. Too big. Too loud. Too other. The series lets kids know that it’s okay to have big feelings, face problems, and make mistakes – a big heart can guide you on the way! It’s sweet and silly “nice core” kids and caregivers alike will laugh along with and enjoy while engaging with universal themes of friendship, love, acceptance and inclusivity.”
The series features voiceover guest stars, including Henry Winkler, Al Yankovic, Nicole Byer, Cree Summer, Carlos Alazraqui, Maulik Pancholy, and Maria Bamford. The cast also includes Jessica McKenna (“The Mighty Ones”), Emmy Award nominee Dee Bradley Baker (“Phineas & Ferb”), Amari McCoy (“Spidey and His Amazing Friends”), Vedanten Naidoo (“Little Girl, Little Boy”), Grey Delisle (“The Fairly OddParents”) and James Sie (“Stillwater”).
In the exclusive clip above, Goldie’s friend “Teeny” makes up a rules-heavy game called “Teeny Ball.” When no one wants to play with her because of all the rules, she makes a wish for people who will play – and she’s transported to a dreamland kingdom where she’s given the power to make others play! Nicole Byers’ character is the rules enforcer and (almost) everyone plays the game… but as you’ll see… it doesn’t go as planned.
