*Hollywood’s biggest stars are gearing up for one of the most prestigious nights in entertainment—the 31st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards. With the event just around the corner, anticipation is building for a night celebrating the year’s best performances. From how to tune in and who’s nominated to exciting highlights and special honorees, we’ve got everything you need to know before the big night.
The 31st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards will stream live globally on Netflix on Sunday, Feb. 23, at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT, with the Official Pre-Show starting at 7 p.m. ET. Hosted by Kristen Bell, this year’s event will celebrate top performers across film and television, with Jane Fonda receiving the Life Achievement Award.
The SAG Awards stand out as the only televised ceremony dedicated solely to recognizing actors, with winners chosen by over 122,000 SAG-AFTRA members—the largest voting body in the industry. Additionally, the awards support the SAG-AFTRA Foundation, which provides financial assistance to performers in need. This year, the Foundation’s Disaster Relief Fund is prioritizing aid for members impacted by the Los Angeles wildfires.
“Wicked” leads the 2025 SAG Awards nominations in the film category with five nods, followed by “A Complete Unknown” with four, and “Emilia Pérez” and “Anora” with three each. All four are up for Best Cast, along with “Conclave.” On the TV side, “Shōgun” leads with five nominations, while “The Bear” follows with four, and “The Diplomat” with three. See the full list of this year’s nominees HERE.
The SAG Awards are often seen as a key predictor for the Oscars, as many winners in the acting categories go on to receive Academy Awards, offering valuable insight into potential frontrunners. The 97th Oscars will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood and will be televised live on ABC, streamed live on Hulu. See the full list of nominees HERE.
