*“Mickey 17” is pure genius! It has a superb cast to bring to light man’s inhumanity to man. Director Bong Joon-ho pulls out all the stops in reminding everyone how colonizers and billionaires will stop at nothing to wreak havoc on the world.
What is so brilliant about “Mickey 17” is the fact it uses comedy with cartoonish creeper aliens to catch the attention of dim-witted human morons.
When individuals elect politicians, they know have taken from the poor to give to the rich, deplete the planet of its vital resources, and cause catastrophic climate change, they deserve what they get.
This is pointed out so clearly in Rod Sterling’s Twilight Zone episode, “Black Leather Jackets.” As posted on my social media last year, with photos, the alien leader (Gregory Morton) asks his Black Leather Jacket foot soldier (Michael Forest) if the people on earth are suspicious?
He responds: “Not a bit. They are a stupid race as our research has told us. An inferior breed capable of hatred, killing, making war, greed, and cruelty to one another. The universe can well do without them.”

Based on the 2022 novel “Mickey7” by Edward Ashton, Robert Pattinson (Mickey 17) is an “Expendable.”
As an Expendable, Mickey is disposable. With disposable status, Mickey 17 is set to colonize the distant ice planet Nilfheim. The mission, however, goes awry.
But how did Mickey 17 (from Warner Bros.) end up with such a dead-beat job, and becoming Mickey 17? Unfortunately, life was not good on the overpopulated earth for the lowly worker with debts.
Not reading the fine print, Mickey signed on to join the usurping, mega maniac politician (Mark Ruffalo) on his land grabbing undertaking. Mickey’s job description entailed dangerous assignments that ended in deaths.
Suffice to say, Mickey died 17 times. Each time he died, he was cloned in a biological 3D printer.
Nasha Barridge (Naomi Ackie) changes the trajectory of Mickey’s existence.
As ally and lover, her imprint on Mickey causes a seismic shift in the colonist’s plans.
Steven Yeun, Toni Collette, Anamaria Vartolomei, and Daniel Henshall also star.
