*Tubi has dropped the trailer for its upcoming original series “Demascus,” a six-episode sci-fi comedy set to premiere on August 7.
The show, a collaboration with AMC Networks, promises a fresh take on identity and self-discovery, blending humor with speculative storytelling. The series centers on Demascus, played by Okieriete Onaodowan, a Black man navigating a journey of self-exploration through experimental reality-bending technology. This innovative narrative explores the diverse perspectives of Black men, offering a comedic yet poignant coming-of-age tale.
Created by playwright Tearrance Arvelle Chisholm, “Demascus” boasts a stellar cast, including Janet Hubert, Caleb Eberhardt, and Shakira Ja’nai Paye. Comedy icon Martin Lawrence appears in a recurring role, marking his return to television. Executive produced by Mark Johnson and Myki Bajaj of Gran Via Productions, the series is co-run by Chisholm and Kirk A. Moore.
