*New Jersey Senator Cory Booker shared joyful news on Instagram, revealing his engagement to girlfriend Alexis Lewis.
“I’m thrilled to share: Alexis and I are engaged!” Booker, 56, wrote, describing Lewis as his “partner, best friend, and now my fiancée.”
The couple, together for about 18 months, lives in Washington, DC. Photos from their Hawaii trip, including Booker proposing on one knee, accompanied the announcement — see the IG post below.

As the New York Post reports, social media users quickly noticed Lewis’s resemblance to Booker’s former girlfriend, actress Rosario Dawson. The ex-couple dated for two years before parting ways amicably in 2022.
“Congratulations…but you definitely have a type…literally thought she was Rosario!” one commenter posted. Another added, “Literally came here looking for this comment. Could definitely be sisters!” A third user remarked, “I was like, Rosario looks great! But then I saw the caption.”
Booker, a senator since 2013, has recently made headlines beyond his personal life. In April, he set a record for the longest Senate speech, lasting 25 hours without food or water. How did he manage to stand up and speak for more than a day without eating or drinking? As we reported earlier, Booker decided to dehydrate himself to avoid bathroom breaks.
“Again, I don’t want my doctor to be mad at me,” Booker told reporters at the time. “But I really spent time dehydrating myself beforehand, so I did not have to go to the bathroom.”
When asked how he prepared, Booker explained, “I stopped eating on Friday, and then stopped drinking the night before I started on Monday.”
St. Martin’s Press will publish “Stand,” a book tied to this marathon oratory, though some critics claim Booker is profiting from the speech.
