*Cheryl “Salt” James, one-half of the legendary Hip Hop duo Salt-N-Pepa, recently tackled a rumor that her ex-husband, Gavin Wray, was involved in an affair with another man. The rapper took to Instagram to clear the air and defend Wray’s reputation.
As Ice Cream Convos reports, in the video, Salt stated, “Hey, y’all, just wanted to share a little something with you guys. There’s some stuff on YouTube about my ex, basically saying that I have come out and said that he’s bisexual or caught him with a guy or something like that. Not true. Total lie. Old face lie. There’s no truth to it at all.” She emphasized that the story was entirely fabricated.
“My ex-husband… is a straight man, and it’s not fair that people can just say anything about anybody on the internet,” she said.
Salt also called out the broader issue of misinformation online. She pointed to the dangers of clickbait and AI-generated content, which often blur the lines between fact and fiction.

“We have to be able to recognize clickbait and do real research. Social media is the wild, wild west. Now with this AI stuff, I’m like, is this real? Is that real? You gotta question everything and use our brains,” Salt urged her followers.
In the video’s caption, she wrote:
“I hate to even have to address this rumor, I thought it would begin to die out. But it’s just spreading and it’s about my EX and it’s not fair. But it’s an absolute fabricated lie. Click Bait at its finest. We have to be discerning in this weird time we’re living in.”
