*Former NFL quarterback Cam Newton is preparing to welcome his ninth child, as his partner, Jasmin Brown announced she’s expecting their second baby together.
Brown revealed the news on Instagram this Mother’s Day with a photo showing off her baby bump. “Feeling ALL the Love, kicks and elbows ?? cheers to our growing tribe,” she captioned the post.
Newton, 36, is already a father to eight children from three different relationships, Page Six reports. He shares five kids, Chosen, Sovereign-Dior, Camidas, Cashmere, and Shakira, with ex-fiancée Kia Proctor. He also co-parents a son, Caesar, with La Reina Shaw, and helps raise her older child, Jaden, whom he considers his own. Brown previously gave birth to their first child, a daughter, in 2024.
Newton has been open about his unconventional family setup and his reluctance to marry. Speaking in 2024 with celebrity psychologist Dr. Cheyenne Bryant, he explained, “My desire to get married is lower than my fear of divorce.”
“A lot of people see my situation and think that I’m not ‘high-functioning’…I’m not married…I have beautiful children…” he noted.

He also reflected on the impact of past choices, including having a child outside of his relationship with Proctor. “My relationship with my oldest daughter has suffered,” Newton said during an episode of “Special Forces“. All she kept asking was, ‘Yo, why?’”
Despite the challenges, Newton says fatherhood keeps him grounded. “They really give me my purpose,” he told PEOPLE. “They’re my refuge. They’re my peace. They’re my encouragement.”
With another baby on the way, Newton’s growing family remains central to his life.
