*Britney Spears has spoken out following recent claims made by her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, in his upcoming memoir, “You Thought You Knew.”
The book, slated for release on October 21, reportedly contains allegations about Spears’ behavior during their marriage from 2004 to 2007 and her interactions with their sons, Jayden James and Sean Preston.
In a statement posted to social media on October 15, Spears condemned what she described as ongoing manipulation from Federline. “The constant gaslighting from ex-husband is extremely hurtful and exhausting,” she wrote on X. Spears went on to emphasize her efforts to maintain a relationship with her children, saying, “I have always pleaded and screamed to have a life with my boys. Relationships with teenage boys is complex.”

The singer expressed frustration over her portrayal in Federline’s book, asserting that she has long been treated unfairly. “I have felt demoralized by this situation and have always asked and almost begged for them to be a part of my life,” she shared. “Sadly, they have always witnessed the lack of respect shown by own father for me. They need to take responsibility for themselves.”
Calling out the memoir for spreading “white lies,” Spears added, “I am the only one who genuinely gets hurt here.” She concluded her message by defending her privacy, writing, “I am actually a pretty intelligent woman who has been trying to live a sacred and private life for the past five years. I speak on this because I have had enough, and any real woman would do the same.”
After the divorce was finalized in 2007, Federline later revealed that their sons had chosen to distance themselves from the pop star.
