*Although the “Transformers” franchise is a forty-year classic, for decades we hadn’t seen the origin story behind the two biggest rivals – Megatron and Optimus Prime. That is, until now.
“Transformers One” follows the story of a pair of best friends turned foes.
The all-star cast includes Chris Hemsworth (The Avengers, Star Trek), Scarlett Johansson (The Avengers, Lucy), and the voice of Megatron, Brian Tyree Henry (“Atlanta,” “Bullet Train” “Godzilla”).
Orion Pax, D-16, and their Autobot friends discover a life-changing secret that causes a divide in their friendship.

Surprisingly, the “Atlanta” actor himself admits that he second guessed the news when hearing he landed the character.
He shared, “When I was told they wanted me for Megatron I kinda, second guessed it. You know, I was like ‘Are you sure?'” Henry continued, “What have I done to make them think that I can do this?”
This familiar thought process, often to be be a form of imposter syndrome, only lasted a short while. The actor admits after taking a step back he thought, “‘Well, it has to be you? Like, why not?’ Especially when we get to the origin story.”
Henry agreed to jump aboard this project and help bring this story to life. He told us that this role “feels like me” in relation to how D-16 was in his youth. “I really wanted to people to walk out with a sense of understanding,” he stated.
As the story unfolds, the Decepticons has much more context. Watch “Transformers One” in theaters, September 20. Watch the full interview with Brian Tyree Henry now.
