*BET Studios is deepening its relationship with Patricia “Ms. Pat” Williams-Lee.
The company announced an expanded multi-year overall agreement with the comedian, actress, creator, and executive producer. Under the deal, Williams-Lee will develop, write, produce, and perform in original programming across BET platforms, Paramount properties, and select third-party platforms. The agreement also allows her to sell content to outside studios, per the news release.
BET executives described the expanded arrangement as an extension of a creative partnership that has produced some of the network’s most recognizable original programming.
“Ms. Pat is one of the most distinctive voices working in television today, and expanding our partnership reflects both the strength of what she’s already created and our confidence in what’s ahead. We’re proud to give her a broader platform across BET and beyond,” said Aisha Summers-Burke, EVP, Head of Creative, BET Studios.

Louis Carr, President of BET, added, “At BET, we take pride in championing the voices that move our culture forward. Ms. Pat is one of those voices; bold, authentic, and deeply rooted in the lived experiences of our community. We’re proud to give her an even greater platform to tell the stories that connect us all.”
Williams-Lee also reflected on the new agreement, saying, “BET took a chance on my story when it was messy, loud, and unapologetically mine. This deal means I get to keep telling the truth, keep building, and keep making room for folks who’ve never seen themselves on screen. I’m just getting started!”
The expanded pact includes Williams-Lee’s existing projects, including the Emmy-nominated scripted comedy “The Ms. Pat Show,” which BET has renewed for a sixth season. Paramount and BET have also broadened the series’ Emmy campaign to include directing, writing, guest star, and comedy series categories. The upcoming season will stream on Paramount+, which now serves as the streaming home for BET+ content.
Williams-Lee will also return to the bench when “Ms. Pat Settles It” premieres new season three episodes on June 30 at 9 p.m. ET/CT. The unscripted courtroom series features Ms. Pat presiding over real-life disputes alongside celebrity jurors, comedians, and friends.
This season’s jurors include Carmen Barton, DeRay Davis, Karlous Miller, NeNe Leakes, Jasmin Brown, Safaree Samuels, and Navv Greene. New episodes will air as part of BET’s weekly “Comedy Fun Night” programming block.
