*Arthur Hayes, the co-founder of BitMEX and a prominent figure in cryptocurrency investing, anticipates that Bitcoin’s price will rise to around $200,000 in the early months of 2026 before experiencing a correction.
He expects any subsequent decline to find strong buying interest, resulting in a new floor substantially higher than $124,000. Hayes bases this outlook on the U.S. Federal Reserve’s recently launched Reserve Management Purchases initiative, announced following the December 2025 FOMC meeting, which he regards as functionally equivalent to quantitative easing in terms of injecting liquidity into the financial system.
“RMP is a new acronym that entered my Love Language dictionary on December 10th, the day of the most recent Fed meeting,” wrote Hayes in his latest blog post from Friday, per decrypt.co. The Bitcoin billionaire continued: “Immediately, I recognized it, understood its meaning, and treasured it like my long-lost love, quantitative easing (QE).” Hayes added, “I love QE because it means money printing, and thankfully I own financial assets like gold, gold/silver mining stocks, and Bitcoin that rise faster than the pace of fiat money creation.”
Hayes believes sustained money printing could eventually enable Bitcoin to displace the “filthy fiat fractional reserve system.”

“As the market equates RMP to QE, Bitcoin will quickly retake $124,000 and punch quickly towards $200,000,” Hayes wrote. “March will mark peak expectations for the power of the RMP to ramp asset prices, and Bitcoin will decline and form a local bottom well above $124,000 as John Williams keeps his grubby fingers firmly planted on the Brrrr button.”
Williams leads the Federal Reserve Bank of New York as president and CEO, and serves as FOMC vice chair, overseeing monetary policy decisions, including interest rate adjustments.
Bitcoin would require a 127% increase to reach Hayes’ target, currently trading around $88,000—30% beneath its $126,080 all-time peak, according to decrypt.
